Suprtool 4.1 Now Shipping
Surrey, BC - Suprtool 4.1 is now available. This year's release brings a variety of
enhancements: faster searching, support for important new IMAGE/SQL features,
compatibility with popular Year 2000 testing tools, a new read-only option, and several
other new capabilities.
- Faster Searching:
Suprtool lets you select records based on a list of qualifying
values via the "table look-up" function. Now, in Suprtool 4.1, the list of values has no
size limit. Moreover, Suprtool can scan your defined list even faster - up to twice as
fast as previous versions.
- B-Trees and Master Dataset Expansion:
Suprtool 4.1 is ready for these new
IMAGE/SQL features. Suprtool will recognize and support any changes you make in
your database to take advantage of the new capabilities.
- Year 2000 Solutions:
For Year 2000 testing, Suprtool is now compatible with the
following date simulation programs: Hourglass (from Allegro Consultants), Time
Machine (from SolutionSoft Systems), and HP's Setdate utility.
- Read-Only Option:
The new read-only mode in Suprtool facilitates compliance with
security requirements. Read-only is a settable option which restricts any database-
altering functions (update, delete, add).
- Nested Use Files:
Suprtool 4.1 supports nested use files, facilitating modular design
and execution of common tasks.
- Enhanced Duplicate Command:
Additional syntax for Suprtool's Duplicate
command allows you to specify the number of sort keys, thereby reducing the
instances where post-processing of the data is required.
Suprtool runs on Hewlett-Packard operating systems-HP 3000 and HP-UX-and works
with a variety of data sources, including Image databases, Allbase and Oracle tables,
MPE and HP-UX flat files, and KSAM files. For more information, please contact
