Introducing Qedit
Download Updates |
Prerelease VersionsFrom time to time, an early release of the next version is available for download. This prerelease version contains the most recent enhancements and bug fixes. This is useful for people eager to try out the latest. These early testers are an integral part of the quality assurance process. We appreciate the feedback we get so the version can be improved further before it becomes the production release shipped to all other Qedit for Windows users.Keep in mind that a prerelease version has not been through all the rigorous and exhaustive testing that a production version enjoys. If you download the prerelease, we are interested in hearing from you. Any comments, good or bad, can only make Qedit for Windows better. And we thank you for that.
Qedit for Windows ClientIf you already have a licensed version or active trial version of Qedit for Windows, you can get the latest version of the Qedit for Windows client. If your trial version has already expired, please contact to reactivate
your trial.
The client download consists of a single self-installing .EXE file. After downloading, you can just run the file, and it will install an updated version of the Qedit for Windows client. Download from our web siteProduction Version 5.9You need version 5.8 or later of the Qedit for Windows server to access some of the new features. Important note about Qedit for Windows 5.9Qedit for Windows support files are now installed in the Windows application data directory instead of the Windows system root directory. Please note that if a user is using a central version of the client (via the sysadmin doing a Network Install) each user of the central program file will need to do the Workstation Install in order to have the install process move their current config files otherwise the Qedit client will assume that it is a new install.A Typical install will also copy the config files for you as well as install the new program file. A Network Install will put the program file in the specified location and move the files for the user who is doing the install and each user will then need to do a Workstation Install before running the new version of Qedit. If this is a new install then this should not be a concern as the new config files will be created in the correct spot. A quick synopsis of the different types of installs and what they do:
